Overview of WFSAD's Activities

WFSAD works to support and empower families coping with serious mental illness on all continents. In addition to providing support to well-established family organizations in such countries as the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, and Japan, we work with families where no organizations exist in an effort to get family support started.

WFSAD supports, educates and advocates for families:

Connect: Creating a community of families and caregivers; fostering community-based, family-run organizations to ease isolation and reduce stress.

Educate: Providing information about the illness, its treatment and prognosis. Training families and creating a roadmap for caregivers. Providing hope for recovery.

Advocate: Fighting for policies and services to protect the rights of families and improve care. Sharing innovative strategies and tools for fighting stigma.
